If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. ![]() This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Wolf Spider. If a Red Worker Ant gets too close to a Wolf Spider while it is sleeping, the Wolf Spider will become aggressive. They are neutral towards other creatures but will defend themselves and become hostile when attacked. Wolf Spiders are passive toward Orb Weaver Spiders and Spiderlings and will not attack them under any circumstances. The player can unlock the Mithradatism mutation by killing a Wolf Spider, and can gain stronger phases of the mutation by killing more. As mentioned above, Wolf Spiders have a fondness for Stinkbug Parts, and may steal them from players' baskets or chests. Even before players are seen, if one is nearby, the Wolf Spider will "smell" and follow in the direction of that player. ![]() The Wolf Spider is hostile toward the player, and will produce snarling sounds and give chase upon spotting them. Wolf Spiders will eat Stinkbug Parts, even those stored in players' chests. Wolf Spiders will always sleep through the first 3 days of a players save before beginning to patrol at night, though if disturbed while sleeping, they will still attack as usual. They also have a chance to inflict Venom. Their attacks include a normal bite, a forward lunge attack, a jump attack, and a deadly combo bite, all of which apply poison. They attack similarly to Orb Weaver Spiders, but are able to inflict an additional Poison effect. Their longer legs give them a deceptively fast stride, both when roaming and chasing. If a perceived threat or prey are spotted, they break from their roaming state and chase that creature. They sleep by lowering their bodies to the ground and curling their legs close, making a very distinct and audible “snoring” sound effect. Wolf Spiders roam randomly on the ground usually at late afternoon night and early morning, as they commonly sleep during the day. They have an infected variant found in 3 areas across the yard after sealing the weed killer. The Wolf Spider is one of the biggest threats to unprepared players. ![]() It is considerably larger than the player and can be identified by the hair across its body, the colored V on its abdomen and the thicker legs than orb weavers. However, they can also be found in the late areas located in the upper yard. The Wolf Spider is a hostile creature found around the Backyard, most notably under the Oak Tree or around the Plank Cliff in the early areas. Status Effects Inflicted Status Effect Inflicted ![]() Weakness & Resistances Elemental Weakness Can drop spider chunk, spider fang, and spider venom on death. And of course, one poison hit and it's all over.ĭo I just need to start a new game with a nerfed/easy setting on the combat? What's the trick to dealing with these things? I'm willing to learn, but I'm not a master of twitch reflex combat, and I'm not sure I COULD be, even if that's the kind of game play I wanted.A ferocious hunter that prowls mostly the central and westward zones of the yard. The hit so hard, fast, and often, they don't even NEED poison. I don't have the timing of a professional real life martial artist, that's why I play video games instead. I've tried to duplicate this- Save the game, attack a sleeping spider, then practice blocking. I notice these videos are a year or more old, and current spiders seem twice the size, three times as aggressive, and four times as fast. Then, I watched a couple of videos showing youtubers showing off their blocking, and killing one with no armor and a peblet axe or spear. Buffed acorn armor isn't much better than going in nekkid, and buffed weapons still do tiny chips of damage. In the right circumstances, I can kill a spider cheesily, taking advantage of the AI limitations and using dozens of arrows, but whatever I try, it's total suicide to get in close with them.īetter weapons and armor matter not at all.
